BlueScope reported on Monday that its annual profit more than doubled, driven by improved spreads in the US steel market and stronger performance in Southeast Asia.
Australia’s largest steelmaker posted an underlying net profit after tax of A$851.2 million ($602.99 million) for the year, up from A$420.8 million in the previous year.
The company forecasts underlying earnings before interest and tax in the range of A$860 million to A$960 million for the first half of 2027.
BlueScope declared a final ordinary dividend of 65 Australian cents per share and a special dividend of 70 Australian cents per share.
The steelmaker said it plans to return A$3 per share to shareholders in the 2027 financial year.
