The Russian Ministry of Health announced plans to expand the neonatal screening program to include six additional hereditary diseases. Starting in 2027, infants will be tested for myodystrophy Duchenne, Pompe disease, Gaucher disease, Niemann-Pick disease type A/B, mucopolysaccharidosis type I, and Krabbe disease. This initiative aims to enable earlier diagnosis and access to necessary treatments, particularly for conditions where specialized care and medication are available through programs like the «Circle of Good» foundation.
