A mass evacuation of residents is underway in Nevada (USA) due to a wildfire that broke out in the northern part of the state. This was reported by the American television network ABC News.
According to the report, the blaze—dubbed the “Hawk” fire—started near the city of Reno. Within a single day, the area burned expanded to 3,200 hectares. The fire threatens to reach approximately 1,000 homes.
Firefighting efforts are being hampered by strong winds. Local fire chief Richard Edwards explained that wind gusts are driving the flames rapidly toward residential areas, creating serious challenges for emergency responders.
