
American tennis player Martin Damm defeated Jordan’s Abdullah Shelbayh in the first round of the Winston-Salem tournament, winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
The 22-year-old Damm (ranked 92nd in the world) hit 16 aces, committed one double fault, and converted two of eight break points.
Shelbayh recorded four aces, committed five double faults, and converted one of the three break points he earned.
In the second round of the Winston-Salem tournament, Martin Damm Jr. will face Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev.
