Samsung tested a 7000 mAh battery for the Galaxy S27 Ultra but ultimately decided against it in the final production version. According to Android Authority, which cited insider kro, the company developed multiple prototypes, including one with the high-capacity cell.
The decision likely stemmed from trade-offs between battery size, device thickness, weight, and thermal management. Instead, the released Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a battery with a capacity of approximately 5700–6000 mAh. This still represents a significant step forward compared to previous flagship models that typically featured 5000 mAh batteries.
