In the United States, a woman with many children killed her two-year-old son after discussing with friends the high-profile case of another mother who confessed to killing three children.
According to The People newspaper, the body of two-year-old Barrett Walsh was found in the basement of a home in Frankfort, Illinois.
Before paramedics arrived, a neighbor performed CPR but was unable to revive the boy. Doctors arriving at the scene pronounced the child dead.
The infant’s mother, Corey Walsh, attempted suicide. She was hospitalized, and police officers are standing guard outside her room.
According to the prosecutor’s office, shortly before her son’s death, the mother discussed with friends the case of Lindsay Clancy, who confessed to killing her three children in 2023.
An acquaintance of Corey’s stated that she had been closely following the trial.
Attorney Walsh noted that his client may have been experiencing a psychotic episode at the time of the murder and requires evaluation.
At the time of the tragedy, the defendant’s husband was in another part of the country. Three other children remained in the house; they were unharmed.
