A team led by Jietai Jing at East China Normal University achieved a major milestone: they successfully teleported the quantum information encoded in a 100-pixel image across 100 simultaneous channels. By arranging light modes in a 10-by-10 grid and creating a matching grid of entangled light, the researchers developed an all-optical system that processed all channels in parallel. The average fidelity (0.60) exceeded classical limits (0.52), proving that scaling quantum teleportation doesn’t become prohibitively cumbersome as more channels are added. This could pave the way for flexible, high-capacity quantum communication networks in the future.
