For years, a Belgian dentist sexually assaulted patients under the pretext of a non-existent procedure he called “throat hygiene.”
The doctor appeared in court facing charges of repeatedly sexually assaulting patients. According to the publication GVA, for nearly 30 years, the perpetrator performed so-called “throat hygiene” on women—a non-existent medical procedure he described as a “grandmother’s recipe method.” During the procedure, he would thrust his fingers deep into the patients’ throats and masturbate.
Investigators state that the crimes took place between 1995 and 2025. The lawyer representing the victims noted that there were no men among the victims—as if “only women could benefit from the accused’s throat disinfection.”
Additionally, the dentist performed procedures on some patients while they were under anesthesia. One woman complained of genital pain following such a procedure.
The dentist has admitted to most of the alleged acts of sexual assault. Legal proceedings are ongoing. A total of 25 victims—all women—have been identified in the case.
