At the Snapdragon Summit on September 23, Motorola unveiled the Signature 27 — the world’s first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s new 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The device marks a naming shift for the brand, with the last two digits denoting the release year for clearer generational identification. Motorola promises seven years of Android OS and security updates.
The cooling system, dubbed ArcticMesh, is particularly noteworthy: it combines a 40% larger vapor chamber, liquid metal components, a copper mesh, and thermal gel infused with diamond particles — designed to sustain peak performance during extended AI workloads, gaming sessions, and video recording. The camera setup includes a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor (1/1.28 inch) with optical stabilization and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with 100x zoom. Two additional camera modules remain undisclosed. Video processing is handled in real time by an AI-powered Video Enhancement Engine.
Audio is tuned in partnership with Bang & Olufsen — the first Motorola phone to bear the Danish brand’s logo. The phone ships in two Pantone-validated colorways: Coal Smoke with a Tactical Weave texture and Capulet Green with a textile-like finish. Full specifications, pricing, and the exact release date will be announced later, but Motorola confirms a global launch before the end of 2026.
