The Washington Wizards have suffered a major scare regarding their future franchise cornerstone. Head coach Brian Keefe announced today that the 2026 No. 1 overall draft pick, AJ Dybantsa, sustained a mild ankle sprain during Friday night’s intense preseason finale against the New Orleans Pelicans. While medical staff confirmed that the injury is not structural, the coaching team plans to exercise extreme caution with the rookie star’s recovery timeline to ensure he is fully healthy for the upcoming regular-season opener.
