The British newspaper The Sun has reported on claims circulating on social media suggesting that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may be suffering from a serious illness. The reports mention a potential brain hemorrhage and a coma; however, no independently verified medical evidence has been provided to support these claims.
According to the circulating reports, the North Korean leader was urgently transported to China for medical treatment, with some sources pointing to the Peking Union Medical College Hospital as the alleged facility. There is no confirmation that Kim Jong Un has actually been admitted to this institution.
Neither North Korean nor Chinese authorities have confirmed any information regarding the hospitalization or the health status of the North Korean leader. The reports are based on online claims rather than official documents or medical records; therefore, the information regarding a coma remains unconfirmed.
The last public appearance by Kim Jong Un mentioned in these reports took place on October 11, when he visited a defense exhibition in Pyongyang accompanied by his wife, Ri Sol Ju, and his daughter, Kim Ju Ae. State media in North Korea released photographs of this visit on October 13.
