In the United States, 35-year-old Amanda Crafts, a schoolteacher, has been charged with robbery, according to a report by BreakingAC.
The incident took place on October 9 at the Harrah’s Atlantic City hotel and casino. Police state that Crafts and her accomplice, 23-year-old Vida Engel, met the victim at a bar. After exchanging contact information, they invited the man back to their hotel room.
According to the victim, the women stripped him naked in the room and tied him to a bed. Engel engaged in sexual activity with him, then remarked, “This is what you get for $1,250.”
Crafts then held the man in place while Engel unlocked his phone using facial recognition and transferred the aforementioned sum of money into her own account. The victim stated that none of this was done with his consent.
In court, Crafts attempted to defend herself by citing her profession as a teacher. “I’ve never been to jail. I’ve never been arrested before. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” she claimed. Social media profiles indicate that she teaches computer science at Middle Township Middle School. School administration has confirmed that one of their staff members has been arrested.
Both Crafts and Engel face charges of theft and conspiracy to commit robbery. Engel has also been charged with prostitution.
