When their small engine failed during a sudden, violent ocean storm, the vessel began taking on water near a dangerous rocky reef. According to the crew’s testimonies and onboard video footage, the colossal marine mammal swam beneath the boat and positioned itself to absorb the heaviest waves, effectively shielding the vessel.
