A massive galaxy cluster known as XLSSC 122 is forcing scientists to reconsider current models of cosmic evolution. Observations from the James Webb Space Telescope revealed that the cluster accumulated a surprisingly large amount of matter much earlier than expected. Researchers believe the discovery could reshape our understanding of dark matter distribution and the formation of large-scale structures across the universe. The distant cluster also acts as a giant gravitational lens, helping astronomers observe even more remote galaxies hidden behind it.
