Nothing has released a teaser for its first AI-powered device, with an official unveiling expected in December. While the company has yet to disclose the device’s name, price, technical specifications, or design, it has confirmed one key detail: it will not have a screen.
Carl Pei, the head of Nothing, emphasized that this new device cannot simply be replaced by a standard smartphone app. According to Pei, while current AI models are already “smart enough,” they lack sufficient context about the user—such as their habits, current tasks, and past actions. Media reports indicate that the company aims to create a device capable of gradually gathering this information to better understand the owner’s daily needs.
Other AI-focused devices, such as the Humane AI Pin and the Rabbit R1, failed to gain significant public traction, as their capabilities proved “limited” when compared to conventional smartphones.
