It is highly unlikely that Jacob Elordi will become the next James Bond. According to insiders, his relationship with Kendall Jenner is the reason he was passed over. The franchise’s producers are looking for an actor with an air of mystery to play Agent 007—not a fixture of the celebrity gossip columns. As Rob Shuter of Naughty But Nice explained, the intense public scrutiny resulting from his romance with the model does not align with the image of the iconic spy.
“Being linked to the Kardashian world has become a problem. His romance with Kendall has drawn unwanted attention,” the journalist noted.
Compounding these casting setbacks is the lukewarm reception of a recent film featuring Elordi: Star Dog (directed by Ridley Scott and released in August) garnered only about 40% positive reviews.
Among fans, the term “Kardashian curse” has even gained traction—the idea that men associated with the famous family tend to face a string of misfortunes. Those cited as having been “affected” include Timothée Chalamet (who failed to win an Oscar for Marty the Magnificent), Lamar Odom, Kanye West, and Travis Scott.
