The National Weather Service has reported that New York State is bracing for its most severe cold snap in two decades, with temperatures potentially plummeting to -27 degrees.
Nearly 80 million Americans will be impacted by the harsh deep freeze that has swept across the Eastern Seaboard states, according to estimates released by the ABC television network.
Warnings concerning extreme low temperatures are in effect for the New England region, and the states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, as stated by the National Weather Service. In certain locations within these areas, thermometers could register lows of minus 36 degrees. New York State specifically anticipates its coldest weather in the last 20 years, reaching drops to -27.
Northeastern states such as Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio are also encompassed within this cold air mass. In some locales, the sharp decrease in temperature is occurring alongside heavy snowfalls.
