Norway’s Athletes Hold 18 Gold Medals
MILAN, February 21. /TASS/. The Norwegian team has secured the top spot in the medal tally for the 2026 Olympic Games, currently taking place in Italy, ahead of schedule.
Norwegian competitors have amassed a total of 18 gold medals. Their closest competitor is the United States team, boasting 11 top-tier awards. Since American athletes can at most claim an additional 6 golds before the Olympics conclude, they no longer possess the mathematical possibility of overtaking the leader.
Norway is also ahead in the overall count of medals captured (40). Trailing them are the teams from the USA and Italy, each with 30 medals.
The Olympic Games in Italy are scheduled to wrap up on February 22.
