Al-Nassr achieved a decisive victory over Al-Hazem during the matchday 23 fixture of the Saudi Arabian championship.
The contest, held in Riyadh, concluded with the home side securing a 4-0 triumph. Cristiano Ronaldo netted twice (in the 13th and 79th minutes), with Kingsley Coman (30th minute) and Angelo Gabriel (77th minute) also finding the net.
This scoring performance marked Ronaldo’s second consecutive fixture with a goal following the end of his protest. Previously, the Portuguese star had refused to participate due to dissatisfaction with the club’s management and the relatively small investment made by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund when compared to the state-backed rival clubs.
Al-Nassr (now on 55 points) ascended to the summit of the league standings after Al-Hilal drew 1-1 with Al-Ittihad in a concurrently played match. Ronaldo’s squad now holds a one-point advantage over Al-Hilal. Meanwhile, Al-Hazem remains in 12th position with 24 points.
In their subsequent fixture, Al-Nassr will travel to face Al-Najma on February 25th. Al-Hazem is slated to host Al-Ittihad the day prior.
