IIHF President Luc Tardif is set to be inducted into the federation’s Hall of Fame. The decision was reached unanimously by the relevant committee. The induction ceremony itself is scheduled for May. It’s worth recalling that under Tardif’s leadership, Russia faced a ban from international competitions.
Luc Tardif, the head of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), will have his place secured in the organization’s Hall of Fame. This information was confirmed via a statement from the federation’s press office. The IIHF’s historical committee voted without dissent to approve his nomination. His official entry into the Hall is slated for May. Tardif assumed the presidency of the IIHF back in 2021. In March, it was announced that he does not plan to seek another term in office. It should be noted that the disqualification of Russia from international competitions occurred during his tenure as president.
Previously, our reports covered the Russian Biathlon Union’s appointment of Andrey Padin as the head coach for the men’s national biathlon team. He will be overseeing “Group A,” while Sergey Bashkirov will manage “Group B.” This appointment still requires final confirmation from the Ministry of Sport, which is expected by June 1st.
