Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has shared his thoughts on Ferrari’s potential performance at the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix.
“This is precisely the kind of circuit where raw power isn’t the deciding factor. I believe it’s much more about the car’s overall efficiency. I reckon our car could be exceptionally strong there.
My plan is to approach it with the same mindset and drive that I’ve had this weekend. I’ll be collaborating closely with the engineers to ensure we have the car dialed in perfectly right from the first practice session.
And yes, if we disregard the horsepower deficit, we’re truly competitive with these teams. However, the reality of the situation right now is different. In those moments, I find myself thinking, ‘I need more power.’
The reason is that through the corners, I can keep pace with them or even stay right with them. But then, I can’t push any harder. You then witness them gradually pull away on the straights, only for me to catch up again under braking, and then they start to inch away once more on the straight. It’s incredibly frustrating,” Hamilton was quoted as saying by GPblog.
