Brad Pitt, aged 62, has achieved a partial victory in his legal dispute with his ex-wife, 49-year-old Angelina Jolie, concerning the Château Miraval winery. A judge has compelled one of the key witnesses, associated with Russian businessman Yuri Shefler (designated a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice), to resume giving testimony, as reported by Us Weekly.
On May 20th, the court issued a ruling “partially granting” Pitt’s request for “compelling” Todd Kuehlb, former chief legal counsel for Shefler’s company Stoli (designated a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice), to undergo further depositions. Kuehlb is required to testify regarding Jolie’s 2021 sale of her stake in the Miraval estate (valued at approximately $27 million). It is alleged that this transaction was conducted without Pitt’s consent during their divorce proceedings.
To recall, the legal battle between Pitt and Jolie, who are raising six children, commenced in 2022. At that time, the actor filed a lawsuit against his former wife over the sale of her share in the winery to a subsidiary of Stoli Group without his approval, despite his belief that their agreement stipulated otherwise.
Jolie, who was married to Pitt from 2014 to 2016, has refuted these allegations in a counterclaim. In December 2025, the court ordered the actress to “fully produce” “unedited versions” of her correspondence with Shefler (designated a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice) concerning the sale of the estate.
