
Russia’s national team secured the top position in the overall medal count at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, which concluded on Sunday in Varna, Bulgaria.
The Russian athletes amassed a total of 9 medals, comprising 2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze. Bulgaria’s team secured the second spot with 8 medals, followed by Israel in third place with 7 medals.
However, when considering only gold medals, Russia ranked fourth. Bulgaria led this category with 4 gold and 4 silver medals. Germany came in second with 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, while Spain took third place with 3 gold medals.
The European Championships, held in Varna from May 27th to 31st, marked the first major international competition for Russian gymnasts in five years where they were able to compete under their national flag.
