
On May 31st, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, hosted the players and coaching staff of the football club “Paris Saint-Germain” (PSG) at the Élysée Palace, celebrating their victory in the Champions League.
“During the gathering, Macron congratulated the team on their achievement, declaring PSG the greatest club in Europe. The French President acknowledged that the Parisians kept their fans on the edge of their seats until the very final seconds of the championship match,” as reported by “Sport-Express.”
Following the formal proceedings, Macron posed for a group photograph with the players and members of the coaching team.
On May 30th, PSG defeated England’s “Arsenal,” securing their second consecutive Champions League title. Following the match, Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov became the first Russian to win the Champions League twice. This marks the second consecutive title for the 27-year-old goalkeeper while playing for the Parisian club.
