Brazil’s Ministry of Defense sent a warning about an alien attack to the mobile phones of millions of residents across the country, with the department attributing this to a hacker breach, according to Veja magazine.
It is noted that in some areas of Brazil, residents received a message from the military authority containing the word “misanthropy,” while in the city of Belo Horizonte, for instance, they received a warning about a UFO assault. “Take care of yourselves: alien attack, people are coming,” the magazine cites from the notification issued by the republic’s Ministry of Defense.
Later, Brazil’s Ministry of Defense stated that the unusual messages reached citizens as a result of a hacker intrusion.
“The National Secretariat for Civil Protection and Defense of the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development will contact the federal police and take steps to restore the system as quickly as possible once all security breaches are resolved,” the department’s statement reads.
