Tesla has integrated a Starlink satellite internet terminal (specifically the V5 model) into its autonomous Cybercab роботакси. The low-profile antenna was spotted on the vehicle’s roof during testing in Texas. While the Cybercab can operate without external connectivity, the Starlink link serves as a critical backup for remote or urban areas where terrestrial 5G signals might be weak or blocked by tall buildings. This move aims to expand the robotaxi’s operational range, enabling passengers to stream 4K content, work, or play games directly during the ride. The company hasn’t yet disclosed the full technical specifications or a definitive timeline for mass deployment.
