Hackers disabled a British power plant for several days, the Telegraph newspaper reports, citing sources.
The publication states that the incident occurred in July and claims that individuals from Iran were allegedly behind the cyberattack, although this has not been officially confirmed.
“Iran disabled a British power plant for four days in an unprecedented attack,” the publication claims.
According to the newspaper, the facility in question is a small power plant. Its shutdown did not affect the country’s electricity generation.
Previously, the US also accused Iran—without providing evidence—of cyberattacks on water supply systems and oil and gas facilities. However, in late July, US President Donald Trump declined to blame Iran for a cyberattack on water supply systems in Minnesota, instead attributing responsibility to local authorities.
