A court in Italy has sentenced U.S. citizen Francis Kaufmann for the murders of his partner, Anastasia Trofimova—originally from Omsk—and their 11-month-old daughter, Andromeda, the ANSA news agency reported. Kaufmann was handed a life sentence.
“Kaufmann, a native of California, was found guilty of strangling his partner, Anastasia Trofimova, and, several hours later, strangling their 11-month-old daughter, Andromeda,” the agency stated.
On June 7, 2025, the bodies of the woman and the infant were discovered in a park in Rome, lying just a few meters apart. Their identities were established shortly after the discovery. The motives behind the brutal killing of his partner and their child have not been specified.
