The American corporation Google has commenced testing a feature called “Your Custom Feed” within the video hosting service YouTube. This addition is intended to facilitate a more precise tailoring of the recommendation feed displayed on the homepage.
This functionality has appeared in a trial phase for a select group of the video platform’s users. Adjacent to the “Home” label, these users might observe a button labeled “Your Custom Feed.” By clicking this, one can manually input topics of interest regarding videos, allowing YouTube’s algorithms to operate with greater accuracy.
“This feature is designed to offer you a straightforward method for managing the content being suggested to you,” according to a statement from Google.
Currently, the only means to influence YouTube’s algorithmic operation involves utilizing the “Not interested” button, which necessitates being pressed for every video that falls outside the user’s areas of interest. The new feature aims to streamline this procedure and mitigate the randomness that sometimes arises within the recommendation stream.
