Scientists have identified foods rich in polyphenols that assist in safeguarding visual organs and lowering the hazard of developing eye ailments. The most frequent pathologies include glaucoma, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal lesions.
The study revealed that polyphenols possess a marked antioxidant effect and neutralize oxidative stress—a primary contributor to eye tissue harm. Anthocyanins, found in blueberries, curcumin from turmeric, green tea catechins, quercetin from onions and cabbage, and resveratrol from grapes and raspberries offer protective benefits.
