This week, Apple unveiled ten brand-new devices. However, concurrently, the company also disclosed its decision to cease production on over a dozen existing products, some of which date all the way back to 2019.

Earlier in the week, Apple announced the iPhone 17e smartphone, refreshed iPad Air tablet models powered by the M4 chip, MacBook Air laptops featuring the M5 chip, MacBook Pro notebooks equipped with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, two new versions of the Studio Display monitor, and the entirely new MacBook Neo. At the same time, the manufacturer struck the following 15 products from its active lineup:
iPhone 16e with the A18 processor (released in 2025);
11-inch iPad Air with the M3 processor (released in 2025);
13-inch iPad Air with the M3 processor (released in 2025);
13-inch MacBook Air with the M4 processor (released in 2025);
15-inch MacBook Air with the M4 processor (released in 2025);
14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip and 512 GB storage (released in 2025);
14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro processor (released in 2024);
16-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro processor (released in 2024);
14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Max processor (released in 2024);
16-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Max processor (released in 2024);
Mac Studio with the M3 Ultra processor and 512 GB storage (released in 2025);
Studio Display monitor with the A13 Bionic chip (released in 2022);
Pro Display XDR monitor (released in 2019);
Pro Stand for the Pro Display XDR (released in 2019);
VESA Mount Adapter for the Pro Display XDR (released in 2019).
Significant markdowns are already being applied to many of these discontinued items by retailers. All the newly announced gadgets became available for pre-order on Wednesday, March 4th, with general sales and shipments commencing on March 11th.
