Consuming large amounts of butter elevates the danger of fatalities from cancer and other serious illnesses, according to information published in the Mirror, which cites research featured in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.
The paper details how academics examined records pertaining to over 221,000 adults who were tracked for anywhere from three decades to five decades. Throughout this observation period, 50,932 deaths were recorded; 12,241 of those were attributed to cancer, and 11,240 to heart and blood vessel conditions.
The scientists determined that individuals with high butter intake exhibited a 15% greater likelihood of dying from any cause, and a 12% increased risk of death due to cancer. Nevertheless, swapping just 10 grams of butter for a vegetable-based fat option was linked to a 17% reduction in overall mortality risk, including deaths potentially linked to malignancies.
