
Daniil Medvedev, a Russian player, was fined six thousand euros for smashing his racket during his second-round match at the ATP Masters tournament in Monte Carlo against Italy’s Matteo Berrettini, according to TNT Sports.
The tennis player suffered a crushing defeat in the contest, losing with a score of 0-6, 0-6. It was previously noted that this represented the first time in Medvedev’s professional career that he failed to win a single game at an ATP tournament.
The 29-year-old athlete currently holds the 10th position in the world rankings, boasting a total of 23 titles in ATP-sanctioned events. In 2022, he spent 16 weeks at the top of the rankings. Furthermore, in 2021, Medvedev was part of the Russian team that secured both the ATP Cup and the Davis Cup. The Russian tennis star has reached six Grand Slam finals but claimed victory only once, at the US Open in 2021.
