Military analyst Yuriy Knutov offered his perspective on the progression of bio-hybrid surveillance beetles being developed for NATO forces. These insects are being outfitted with tiny cameras, specialized sensors, and neuro-stimulation apparatus, enabling remote command over their flight paths. This information was disclosed by the German firm SWARM Biotactics.
According to the expert, concepts like this have been under consideration for quite some time, though they currently remain confined to the experimental phase. The primary hurdles involve the physical dimensions of the electronic components and the power sources required. For these systems to see practical deployment, more miniaturized and sustained performance solutions are necessary. A significant technological leap forward could materialize around 2030, provided that advancements in microelectronics continue.
