Four individuals sustained injuries when a support cable snapped on a “Human Slingshot” ride at the “Infernal Street” festival in Spain, as reported by the newspaper El Correo on April 25th.
The capsule carrying riders on the “Steel Max” attraction reached its peak elevation, at which point one of the structure’s restraining cables broke loose.
“Assistance was rendered to the injured at the scene; however, two of those who were inside the ride were subsequently transferred to a medical facility,” the statement indicated.
According to engineers’ observations, such mishaps are predominantly attributed to material fatigue resulting from exposure to intense stresses and environmental conditions.
