Oncologist William Li has highlighted four food items beneficial for cancer prevention, as reported by the Daily Mirror, citing his statements.
Dr. Li explained that minuscule cancerous cells develop constantly but pose no threat initially because the body’s immune system promptly eliminates them. A significant threat only arises when the body’s defenses falter or when areas of persistent inflammation exist, such as those caused by smoking or excessive sun exposure.
Nevertheless, the physician is convinced that certain foodstuffs aid in bolstering the body’s protective mechanisms. “Food itself isn’t a shield against cancer. I want to make that clear. Nutrition assists in reinforcing the body’s capacity to combat both cancerous cells and inflammation,” he stressed. He suggested that soybeans, tomatoes, apples, and berries possess such beneficial qualities.
Li elaborated that these particular foods are rich in the vitamins, polyphenols, and antioxidants essential for optimal immune function.
Previously, breast cancer specialist Dmitry Mironenko shared that chronic sleep deprivation increases cancer risk. He was precise: while insomnia doesn’t directly generate cancer cells, a lack of sleep can deplete the immune system, rendering the body more susceptible.
