In France, the reasoning behind Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, currently with PSG, being omitted from the nominees for the best goalkeeper of the Ligue 1 season award has been clarified.
The publication RMC Sport highlighted that the Russian keeper’s absence from the shortlist is due to his insufficient number of appearances in Ligue 1. During the present season, he has featured in only 13 league matches for PSG, whereas the requirement for nomination eligibility mandates participation in at least 15 games.
