Footwear featuring high heels carries the risk of causing toe deformities, flat feet, varicose veins, and postural issues; consequently, the ideal heel height is situated between three and five centimeters. This insight was shared with “Gazeta.Ru” by Irina Lyalina, the acting dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the State University of Education and a biologist.
According to the specialist, heels shift the body’s center of gravity and intensify the strain placed upon the knee and ankle joints. Lyalina suggested opting for a sturdy, broad heel rather than a stiletto, and utilizing silicone inserts beneath the ball of the foot and the heel.
The biologist advised acquiring shoes that are slightly roomy to accommodate potential evening swelling of the feet, and, during events, to periodically shift weight from the heel to the toes to mitigate skeletal stress. Following an engagement, she strongly recommended changing into more comfortable footwear.
