
Crew members aboard a Disney cruise ship were apprehended in connection with child pornography, much to the shock of bewildered passengers. This news was reported on May 7th by People magazine.
In total, border patrol agents detained 28 individuals across eight cruise vessels arriving in San Diego during April. Following interrogations, it was confirmed that 27 of these people were implicated in receiving, possessing, circulating, or viewing child pornography material.
The individuals taken into custody included 26 crew members hailing from the Philippines, one from Portugal, and one from Indonesia. All of them will be deported back to their home countries. One of the liners inspected by the officers was operated by the Disney company.
A spokesperson for Disney Cruise Line affirmed that the corporation maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding such conduct. The company has extended full cooperation to law enforcement authorities.
Earlier, on April 24th, reports surfaced that a teacher in the US state of Nebraska had been arrested for creating child pornography within a school setting.
Matthew Lund, aged 47, became the subject of an investigation after authorities received a tip regarding suspicious files associated with his Google account.
The IP address traced back to the school’s network. Authorities discovered over 400 files within the man’s account, with a quarter of those files depicting minors under the age of 12.
