OpenAI has rolled out a novel offering in the United States called ChatGPT Finance, enabling users to link their bank accounts and handle personal money matters directly through the chatbot interface.
According to GSMArena, this capability has been extended to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, facilitated by a partnership between OpenAI and the Plaid service, which boasts connectivity with upwards of 12,000 financial institutions.
Once accounts are linked, individuals gain oversight of their expenditures, recurring subscriptions, forthcoming bills, and the status of their overall investment portfolio.
Furthermore, ChatGPT will be equipped to address inquiries regarding spending habits and assist patrons in formulating savings strategies tailored to their specific financial standing.
Control over the linked accounts is administered via the “Finances” section, accessible in the sidebar menu of the ChatGPT web platform and within the dedicated iOS application.
Users retain the prerogative to sever connections to accounts and erase the financial history retained by the chatbot.
OpenAI revealed that upwards of 200 million individuals pose finance-related questions to ChatGPT on a monthly basis.
The company posits that this fresh functionality will furnish the artificial intelligence with richer contextual data for delivering tailored financial advice.
