Xiaomi is extending complimentary repairs for devices impacted by recent floods and heavy rainfall that have affected numerous areas across China. The company has introduced a temporary after-sales support initiative designed to assist users in disaster-stricken regions with their smartphones, tablets, laptops, wearable tech, and even select home appliances.
This goodwill program is valid from May 22nd to June 20th, 2026, and primarily targets areas within the provinces of Jiangxi, Hunan, and Hubei that have experienced the adverse weather conditions.
According to Xiaomi, owners of Xiaomi and Redmi phones, tablets, fitness trackers, smartwatches, earbuds, and laptops can avail themselves of free diagnostics, cleaning, and repair services for water damage sustained during the storms. Furthermore, Xiaomi service centers will offer visitors basic amenities such as charging stations, Wi-Fi access, and drinking water. Eligible customers have the option to either visit designated offline service points or, in certain locations, arrange for mail-in repairs.
The scope of this support initiative also encompasses products from the Mijia ecosystem and larger home appliances that have suffered damage due to flooding or submersion.
Specific areas benefiting from this program include parts of Ganzhou in Jiangxi province, various counties within Hunan province, and the Jingzhou and Enshi regions of Hubei province. Xiaomi has advised users that applications can be submitted through the Xiaomi Mall app under the after-sales service section, by calling the hotline at 950816, or via the company’s official WeChat service account.
What makes Xiaomi’s program noteworthy is that water damage is typically excluded from standard warranty coverage. Repairing electronics damaged by flooding can be a significant expense, particularly for items like smartphones and laptops, making this gesture a substantial relief for affected consumers.
