Starlink has announced the successful connection of 140 schools in remote areas of the Brazilian Amazon to high-speed satellite internet. This initiative was carried out in partnership with the non-profit organization Redes do Futuro.
With the deployment of this network, over 14,000 students have gained access to online education, digital platforms, and contemporary learning resources. This development specifically benefits communities that previously lacked reliable internet infrastructure or faced severely limited broadband connectivity.
Starlink highlighted that satellite communication offers an efficient method for bringing connectivity to remote regions without the need for constructing conventional network infrastructure. For the Amazon, where many settlements are isolated by dense forests and challenging terrain, this presents one of the few viable solutions for guaranteeing dependable internet access.
Earlier this year, Starlink achieved a significant milestone in Brazil concerning satellite broadband deployment, providing stable, high-speed internet to over a million individuals, even in areas where reliable connections were previously non-existent or virtually unattainable.
