In Britain, masked groups of men have reportedly begun targeting migrants, using lists of addresses believed to be where foreigners reside. This was reported on June 11th by The Guardian.
According to media reports, in Belfast, hundreds of men dressed in black set fire to numerous homes and vehicles at addresses found on such a list. It remains unclear how this information was obtained or whether the residents of these properties were criminals or undocumented migrants.
“Families from ethnic minorities were forced to flee their homes, and businesses were looted and burned,” the publication stated.
As a result of the unrest, 27 individuals were displaced due to their homes being destroyed by the protesters.
Earlier, on June 8th, a Sudanese man in Belfast attacked a British national, attempting to decapitate him. The victim was taken to the hospital with severe eye injuries and lacerations to his face and back.
Following the media’s dissemination of reports about the attempted murder, residents of Northern Ireland initiated large-scale protests. Demonstrators engaged in setting vehicles and buses alight and clashing with law enforcement.
