Experts have compared the Trump T1 test unit with the original HTC U24 Pro. Both smartphones underwent CT scans and were then completely disassembled down to their individual components. During the experiment, specialists even successfully installed the HTC U24 Pro’s motherboard into the Trump T1’s casing, resulting in a fully functional “Trump phone.”
The investigation revealed that the internal construction of the devices is virtually identical. Differences are limited to a few aspects of the exterior design. The Trump T1 features a slightly altered flash arrangement, a redesigned speaker grille, and its memory chips come from a different manufacturer: the Trump T1 uses Micron components, while the HTC U24 Pro uses SK Hynix.
The most significant difference lies in the batteries: the Trump T1 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, compared to the HTC U24 Pro’s 4600 mAh capacity.
Previously, HTC stated that it does not engage in the development or manufacturing of smartphones for third-party companies, yet the company did not disclose specific details regarding the U24 Pro’s origin.
The origin of the device itself sparks curiosity. Previously, The Verge reported that the Trump T1 is manufactured in China. In response, representatives from Trump Mobile stated that “Made in USA” remains a future objective for the company, and currently, production and components are sourced from “friendly countries.”
Despite the official launch of the Trump T1 nearly a year ago, the device is still largely unavailable to the general public. To date, only select journalists and bloggers have received the smartphone, and there is no confirmation of mass deliveries to consumers yet.
