
China Southern Airlines announced today that its 11th domestically manufactured C919 passenger jet, identified by tail number B-659X, has arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
As of June 12, the C919 aircraft operated by China Southern Airlines have completed over 11,000 flights, transporting a total of 1.55 million passengers.
Since the beginning of this year, the C919 has undertaken more than 5,300 flights, serving regular commercial routes from Guangzhou to Beijing Daxing, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Taiyuan, and Hefei, as well as from Changsha to Beijing Daxing and Xi’an. The aircraft also participated in the Dubai Airshow in the UAE.
China Southern Airlines further stated that in the future, as new aircraft are delivered and put into service, the C919’s route network will be expanded, and flight frequencies will be increased.
The C919 (full designation COMAC C919) is a Chinese family of narrow-body, twin-engine, short-to-medium-range jet airliners. It was developed by COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) with the aim of competing with global aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.
