Reporters have pointed out that Microsoft has commenced the renewal of its Secure Boot security certificates. These are essential for the fundamental security of the operating system. A company engineer, Scott Shull, clarified that computers failing to acquire the new certificate by June 24th will not immediately cease to function. However, the system will be unable to load updated blocklists for malicious software.
The majority of computers have already received the updated certificates. Difficulties are only anticipated on those devices where the Secure Boot update has been prevented. The final deadline for obtaining the new certificate is October 2026. Shull cautioned that if updates are not applied, Windows computers might eventually refuse to power on at all.
Previously, it was reported that Nvidia identified seven new vulnerabilities within its graphics card drivers and vGPU software. Some of these issues were classified as having a high severity level, with the remainder categorized as medium. Certain flaws could potentially enable attackers to alter data or execute their own code. A variety of graphics card series were found to be at risk, including GeForce, Nvidia RTX, Quadro, Tesla, and NVS.
