United States Secret Service personnel escorted mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Sean Strickland away from an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House. This information was reported by the Daily Mail.
Previously, the American UFC Middleweight Champion Strickland had stated he was prohibited from attending the White House event due to remarks he made about U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Nevertheless, Strickland disregarded this prohibition and showed up at the fan fest for the tournament, which was held in proximity to the White House. Following his appearance, Secret Service agents removed the fighter from the premises.
Strickland is 35 years old and holds a professional MMA record of 31 wins against 7 losses. In May, the American fighter secured a split decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev, who represents the UAE, thereby reclaiming the UFC Middleweight Championship. He initially earned the belt in September 2023 by defeating Israel Adesanya of New Zealand. During his first title defense in January 2024, Strickland was defeated by Dricus du Plessis of South Africa.
