Lionel Messi, the forward for the Argentine national team, has set a new record in FIFA World Cup history by participating in his sixth tournament.
Early on Wednesday morning, Messi was included in Argentina’s starting lineup for their match against Algeria, which was part of the opening round of the World Cup group stage. This tournament is being held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Messi is 38 years old. There’s a possibility that the 41-year-old Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo could match his achievement during the current tournament.
The World Cup is scheduled to conclude on July 19th. Argentina currently holds the title of world champions.
