The Algerian Football Federation has submitted a complaint to FIFA regarding the officiating in their World Cup group stage match against Argentina.
This was reported by L’Équipe.
The Algerian side believes the referee should have sent off forward Lionel Messi for a foul committed in the first half. The Argentine struck Algerian defender Aïssa Mandi from behind on the legs, knocking him to the ground.
Additionally, the federation highlighted an incident involving Alexis Mac Allister, who struck an Algerian player in the face with his elbow during the second half.
The match, held at Arrowhead Stadium in the United States, ended with a 3-0 victory for Argentina.
