Microsoft has expanded its Windows 11 25H2 intelligent rollout program, making it available to all compatible devices running Home and Pro editions that are not under centralized control by enterprise administrators. This was reported by WindowsLatest.
Initially, the automatic update affected a limited range of devices: the intelligent deployment mechanism was only applied to PCs running Windows 11 version 24H2. Users on earlier releases, including 23H2, were not included in the program.
However, Microsoft has revised the description of the update process. The updated documentation no longer mentions version 24H2, and the company has stated that all Windows 11 Home and Pro devices not managed by IT administrators will receive Windows 11 25H2 through the intelligent deployment system, which uses machine learning algorithms.
In practice, this means the update will now be automatically installed on all supported consumer PCs, regardless of their current Windows 11 version. The only exception remains corporate devices that are under organizational management.
Experts note that upgrading to Windows 11 25H2 should not cause major issues for users. The new version is built on the same platform as Windows 11 24H2, so installation takes just a few minutes and resembles activating a feature pack rather than a full operating system upgrade.
An additional benefit of the transition is the extension of the device’s lifecycle. Support for Windows 11 23H2 for Home and Pro users ended in November 2025, while support for version 24H2 will expire in October 2026. Installing Windows 11 25H2 provides another year of security updates and technical support.
